First Starbucks Experience

My first Starbucks experience took place in San Francisco, USA. In 1997, my family and I went to the States for a holiday and San Fran happens to be the last stop. Starbucks - located at the hotel lobby where we were staying in. Being in a western country for the very first time, we tend to try from anything to everything. I remember seeing the logo of the cafe. Round, green and white with a mermaid in it. I didn't know what sort of cafe it was. All I know is that they sell coffee and pastry. Yes, I was that silly! But then again, it's the first time I ever saw a Starbucks cafe, which Malaysia has yet to have at that time.

My cousin and I share the same room, we decided that we would get a cuppa at night to keep ourselves warm because it was winter. The plan went accordingly. When the barista asked me what drinks I wanted, I couldn't give an answer because I have no idea what to order at all! Even by looking at the board that listed all the drinks, I still couldn't make a decision. I was not a coffee lover YET at that time, so we went for the safer drinks which is their Signature Hot chocolate.

This particular Starbucks cafe is quite small compared to the ones we have here in Malaysia. People usually grab their coffee then off they go. Not many would sit there to chill with their computers like here in Malaysia. They are always on the go. Besides hot chocolate, I also bought a box of after coffee mint which I happen to keep the box till this very day.

It's funny how after being a Starbucks coffee lover for so long, it is only now I realized that I have visited the one in USA! Silly me!
