It has been many years since I've came to Cameron Highlands. Decided to take a break over the weekend to revisit this place again with a few friends. Ipoh was our first stop for some scrumptious breakfast in Ming Kok Dim Sum Restaurant. Many people would prefer the famous Foh San but Ming Kok is well known as well. The interior reminds me the olden days type of restaurant. All the dim sums are served on stainless steel metal plates. The portion are slightly smaller compared to Foh San but it is so tasty!

We continue our journey to Cameron Highlands through the exit in Simpang Pulai. Apparently it it is a new route. Since I was the driver, I must say that road is wider and much more comfortable even though it is slightly longer than the old route. Bala Chalet is where we spent the night. It's a beautiful place. There are many rooms available here, single, twin, triple; as you like it. The chalet is surrounded with beautiful trees, plants and flowers. There is a beautiful garden for guests to relax by enjoying a cup of tea, reading a book or even just sitting there while enjoying the beauty of nature. The rooms here are given an English name. I feel like I am in the UK!! Long live the Queen!

After settling into our rooms, we decided to go for tea at Ye Olde Smokehouse which is well known for it's Devonshire tea. Due to the school holiday season and also because it is a weekend, there were many people here not for tea but just exploring this place. This lovely and exquisite house is furnished with sofas and lazy chairs near the fireplace which gives a warm, comfortable and homey feeling. There were a few cupboards filled with china-ware and beautiful plates from Holland. The patio is filled with beautiful wooden cupboards, mirrors together with tables and chairs for dining purposes. It is simply a perfect place for couples to have their candle light dinner (that is if you are willing to spend).

As I mentioned that this place is famous for it's Devonshire tea, we decided to give it a try. Since we've come all the way, how can we leave without trying right? We were served with freshly baked scones served with cream (fresh and delicious) and jam. The taste is lovely except that I prefer my tea to be served in a ceramic teapot rather than a the ugly metal one. It doesn't really blend well with the rest.

Due to traffic congestion, we went for a ride around the tea plantation before heading to the Cameron Boh Tea Plantation Visitor's center. It was not easy driving along these small tiny road. The slopes were a challenge till my poor MyVi could not go up on it at a certain area. We stop for some photos. It's amazing how this place has change. The Visitor's centre consist of a cafe now where visitor's could purchase drinks and some food while sitting outside at the balcony enjoying the beautiful tea field. Instead of a concrete wall cafe, the concept of it is wood and glass. We manage to get a table at the balcony, enjoying the cool breeze and the scenery. What annoyed me the most was seeing a few kids competing with each other to see whose rubbish fell to the field the fastest. Parents should watch over their kids and educated them how to preserve and love mother nature. As the kids tried to throw the rubbish, we gave them a piece of our mind which scares them away!

We continue driving to enjoy mother nature till we stop by at this place which we thought it was a church (it was a school actually) and took some jump shots. After many attempts, we manage to get some good shots. With all the jumping and running, we went back to our chalet to rest and refreshen up before night market.

By the time we went to the night market, it was still drizzling. It sort of ruin the mood but it didn't stop us from going! There were so many strawberries themed plush, toys, clothes, mats, hair accessories and slippers. Welcome to the world of strawberries is all I can say. There were many fruits stall (though mainly are strawberries), deep fried veggies (extremely yummy). Most of the things that are sold here are pretty much the same which was why we didn't finish exploring the whole place. We went to Berinchang for steamboat dinner (perfect for the weather). To burn off the food that we had over dinner, we visited the YTL's Cameron Highland Resort which was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights. A private function was being held in the hotel that night so we were not allowed to go in. We opt for Starbucks instead which I truly love the fireplace near the sofa area. Love it! We spent the night playing pictionary there.

The next day we went to pick strawberries and shop for some fresh veggies before heading back to KL. It was a refreshing trip and I can't wait to come back to Cameron again (mainly for the cold weather).
