An Evening with Bob Fitts

On April 1 (April’s Fool Day), my church had the privilege of Bob Fitts and his wife, Kathy lead us in worship. Bob is a well-known worship leader and songwriter since the early 80’s. He has recorded numerous albums, both as a solo artiste and also as a featured worship leader. Some of his best-known songs include “Blessed Be The Lord God Almighty”, “He Will Come And Save You” and “I Will Bow to You” and they are still being sung in churches today.

More than 600 people were blessed by Bob, Kathy and the worship team that evening. Despite the heavy Friday evening traffic in the heart of the city, the people were not deterred by this obstacle. We started the evening with “Blessed Assurance” and the sanctuary was filled with the praise of His people who lifted their hands and voices in worship. Bob was shared an impactful message and challenged the people to keep pressing on for our nation. A little girl with disabilities who came with her family was prayed for at the end of the evening.

I had the privilege to work alongside with both of them. I had work with many different worship leaders from different countries before. Whether they are well known or not, each time, the experience is extremely rewarding. Each time I am being reminded again and again that it is never about me, but it is always about Him.

I was personally moved by the sight of God’s children who threw their hearts with abandonment in worship to Him and lives touched that evening as Bob led us in praising and lifting the wondrous name of our Creator and God!
