Singapore Day 1

Sorry that the post for this trip has been long overdue. Better late then never right? Anyways, I've been looking forward to this trip for ages because it's my birthday! Then again, due to my back injury I did thought of not going. Thankfully sor-poh Eli is with me for she is the one carrying my luggage and also helping me to take stuff when I can't reach them (hehehe). 3 of us drove to LCCT and I left my poor car at the airport for the whole weekend. It was my first time taking Tiger Airways and boy, the flight was full. We arrived in Singapore in the evening and Drop Inn Hostel was the place where we spend the night. It's a backpackers hostel and it was cheap.

Mix dorm

We stayed in the mix dorm, sharing it with other people from other countries. I get the lower deck (of course). There are a few common bathroom that are shared among the dorms and it is clean. We quickly freshen up and head towards Vivo City near Harbour Front to meet up with Rachel and Jonathan for dinner. Food Republic was the best choice because there is a wide variety that are being offered here.

Jay's Mee Bok

Mee Bok comes with the soup

My beef cut noodles and Jay's mee bok was really nice. The thing I find weird is the fried carrot cake that Eli bought. It was sweet. I've never tasted a plate of sweet fried carrot cake before and that will definitely be the last because it is just plain weird. Rach and Jon were late and by the time they arrive, we pretty much finished our food already. After dinner we went for dessert. Awfully Chocolate was my first choice since Jay kept saying how nice it was, but sadly there were no place for us to sit and to hangout. We ended up at Max Brenner.

Max Brenner's Signature Logo

I've heard of Max Brenner when I was studying in Australia. My Australian friends kept telling me how good it was but they never brought me there! The first time I tried it was in Singapore with my sister.

Strawberry and Banana Waffle

Choc fudge cake

Chocolate Souffle

Overall, it was just too much chocolate for me in just 1 day but it was good catching up with both Rach and Jon. Funny part is that they actually went back to KL the next day.
