Eli has been bugging me that she has yet to eat assam laksa since she came back and she has been craving for it. Coincidentally one of my colleague happened to be in Chinatown to look at some books at the book expo, we all decided to have lunch there as well. According to my colleagues, there is a very well known assam laksa stall that has been in business for many years. The stall is located at the front of the entrance, you can't miss it. Not only you can't miss the stall because the lady boss is extremely rude and loud.

The fierce lady boss
According to one of the stall's owner, this particular assam laksa stall only serve certain tables. You have to order the noodles and the drinks from the same stall. You can't order any other food or drinks except yong tau foo or else you have to find another table. Tables and chairs that owned by the assam laksa stall can be clearly seen. No one can move the chairs into the other tables that does not belong to them OR you will be scolded by the lady boss. Rude or not, people still come for her assam laksa. Due to all these controversy happening between the stall owners, our food choice is extremely limited. Oh well, we're only here for assam laksa right?

Assam laksa
I quite like this particular assam laksa is because of the thick pieces of fish. Many assam laksa stall would serve flakey fish instead of the whole chunk. The fish are a little tough but it was very tasty. The noodles are springy and the soup is just good even though it tasted a little bitter on the first sip (maybe I'm not use to the herbs). The only thing I dislike is the attitude of the owner. If you can bear with the rude attitude and the fact of just ordering the food and drinks from one store, then it will be all good.
